This is truly one of the best shows that I've seen on TV in a very long time. The actors bring amazing realism to their parts and you can almost feel the real family vibe. Coach and Mrs. Taylor do an phenominal job every week providing real glimpses into an honest relationship. This show deserves the ability to find it's audience, it would be nice for NBC to settle on a night and stop moving it around so much.

Over the past 10 or so years, I have become less and less a fan of television entertainment. Most of it, I think is complete and utter drivel, not worthy of broadcast at best, and downright evil at worst. I watched the first episode of FNL mostly out of curiosity, because my daughter worked on both the movie and TV productions. From the first few minutes of the first episode I was hooked. Without question, FNL provides viewers the finest acting, the most engaging, relatable characters, the most realistic, and the most authentic portrayal of families and relationships, with all their attendant conflicts, of any series in my memory. I am 64, and have not planned my life around a TV show since the Mary Tyler Moore Show dictated where I was every Saturday night for years. I plan my life around the airing of the next episode of Friday Night Lights, you know ,sort of like "wither thou goest"....
I care about these characters, and believe if just given an opportunity to see an episode, millions of viewers all over the country would see that the situations, conflicts and challenges these characters deal with are NOT regional situations, or all about small town Texas football (really there is very little footage of football being played) rather they are situations, conflicts and challenges common to us all, part of the Human condition. FNL is truly a gem, a treasure which captures the universal experience of living in today's world.
